Terms and Conditions of Business



Thank you for choosing to book with the Seahorse Guest House.  We look forward to welcoming you.  When you make a booking you are entering an agreement with us.  Please read our terms and conditions below.

Prices


The price includes accommodation plus any board indicated.  Unless clearly stated on the booking, all extras such as additional meals, telephone calls, drinks etc. are additional.  We accept payment by cash, cheque, debit cards and most major credit cards. We do not accept payment by American express.

Cancellation & Insurance


Once you have booked your stay, our agreement is a legal contract and any deposit you may have paid is non-refundable.  If you need to cancel please contact us immediately.  

For cancellations made 7-20 days before your scheduled arrival, 50% of the total booking is payable. For cancellations made less than 7 days before scheduled arrival or by failing to take up the booking without cancelling you will be liable for the total amount.  

For this reason you may wish to take out cancellation insurance, which is inexpensive and can be obtained from any good broker.

Payment details


For all bookings, unless otherwise stated and agreed, we require a non-refundable deposit of the first night's stay to confirm the booking. We will charge this to your credit or debit card.  We will send you an email or letter confirming the booking and letting you know what the outstanding balance is.  The balance is due on arrival.


Your reservation is made with Phillip and Sandra Grey trading as the Seahorse Guest House. Your debit or credit card details are required to secure a booking. We reserve the right to maintain your card details until your departure and for a further 7 days thereafter.  We further reserve the right to charge the card with any cancellation charges that become due following cancellation of any part of a booking, and/or any charges relating to any loss, theft or damage occurring during your stay.  By entering into to a contract with the guesthouse you are authorising us to make the above charges to your debit or credit card without any additional authorisation being sought from you.


In the event that we are unable to obtain payment of any of the above charges from the card details provided, an additional administration charge of 1 night’s stay of the total booking will be added and immediate action will be taken to recover amount owing together with costs and interest calculated at 10% above base rate for Lloyds.


Pets


Pets are not permitted, except by prior specific arrangement and at the absolute discretion of the proprietors.

Non-Availability


We would only cancel your booking if your accommodation were unavailable for reasons beyond our control.  We would attempt to offer you alternative accommodation, however if this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you.  Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.

Arrival


Your accommodation will be available to you from 4pm on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged.  If you are arriving before 4pm, we are usually able to store your luggage for you, however you room may not yet be available.   Please let us know if you plan to arrive after 7pm.

Your bill for accommodation is payable on arrival.

Departure


Please vacate your accommodation by 10am on the day of departure, unless otherwise arranged. Your bill for any extras or services taken during your stay is payable on departure.

Damages & Breakages


Please take care with our accommodation.  You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages that you cause to the accommodation or its contents.  Please report these as soon as they occur.  We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we may send you an invoice for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant.

Keys


Upon arrival you will be given a set of keys for the front door and for your room.  An additional set of keys may be available on request but will only be issued to guest over 16 years. Lost keys must be reported immediately and replacement keys will be charged for.

Liability


We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.

Data


Any data gathered during the course of this booking may be held on computer.  We do not share data with any other persons or organisations.  We may however, send occasional details of forthcoming events or special deals available.
